John Mann

John Mann is a newspaper reporter from Guntersville in Marshall County, Alabama. He moved to the area in 2023 and returned to journalism after a ten year hiatus to manage his family’s plumbing company, a role he still takes on today. A staunch advocate for literacy and libraries he is a member of the Guntersville Friends of the Library Board as well as Vice President of the Marshall County Democratic Club, a member of the State Democratic Executive Committee and the Vice President of the Marshall County People Against a Littered State (PALS).

Originally from Warrior, AL, John is a 2012 graduate of Troy University where he majored in Print Journalism, serving as an editor for the school’s newspaper The Tropolitan for three of his four years. His work has been published in the Troy Messenger, Andalusia Star, Advertiser-Gleam, Sand Mountain Reporter, Good Life Magazine and Land + Lake magazine.
